ProMark Is Rebranding Its Drumsticks

The Texan brand ProMark, now part of the D'Addario group, was founded more than 65 years ago and its drumsticks have long been popular among drummers for their quality and relatively reasonable price. Starting this fall, the company is expected to change names of its drumsticks and restructuring its offer to better reflect the characteristics of each model and make it easier for musicians in different musical genres to choose the right set.

The manufacturer has been offering a large part of its drumstick and mallet models in Forward and Rebound versions for a long time. The Forward series and the Attack variants offer a decades-tested weight distribution that allows for power play, and from now on carry the ProMark Classic label, with the logo in the classic font.

The Forward series and the Attack variants offer a decades-tested weight distribution that allows for power play, and from now on carry the ProMark Classic label, with the logo in the classic font.

Also available are the Rebound and Finesse models, an ideal choice for subtler playing with precisely nuanced dynamics—these versions now carry the simple ProMark designation with a modern logo design. Importantly, the existing product numbers and specifications of particular sets of drumsticks remain unchanged.

Drummers will once again be able to rely on quality models made of hickory, oak, maple, and the special FireGrain heat treatment, that gives the wood a high durability and an incomparably longer life than standard hickory drumsticks, will not disappear from the range. The finishes remain identical in the form of lacquered, natural, or non-slip ActiveGrip surfaces.

The newly designed resealable packaging, displaying key information such as diameter, length, wood species, type, or signature, should provide more intuitive navigation for both the player and the sales clerk. The new fall models will already be shipped in the updated "sleeves," with existing versions expected to switch to the upgraded packaging next spring.

Since the days of company founder Irvin "Herb" Brochstein, in addition to manufacturing technology, sorting processes have also changed significantly, which at ProMark are covered under the company's patented ProMatch system with multi-stage sorting by material weight and other parameters. This process ensures consistent properties for a given type of mallet, eliminating the inconsistency of a purchased pair.
