Ascender Series: Travel Electric Guitars by Ciari Guitars
Travel guitars have been experiencing a boom lately, so boutique manufacturers specialising exclusively in this instrument category are starting to establish themselves on the market. One of the leaders in this sector is Ciari Guitars, which, in its own words, produces "the world's first professional electric guitars with innovative folding technology, delivering all the convenience and none of the compromise". The core of the system of the Ascender collection is the folding neck, whose joint is located at the 14th fret and connects to the main part of the mechanism housed in the body.
To put the guitar into "playing mode", only two actions are needed: the first is to tilt the neck to the standard position and the second is to set the correct string tension, so in most cases, there is no need to tune the guitar using conventional tuning machines. The Ascender edition includes the series P90 Solo, Standard with a pair of humbuckers and Custom with a body combining Les Paul and Telecaster elements, fitted with a select maple top, Seymour Duncan pickups, locking Graph Tech Ratio tuners, etc. The company also offers a special gig bag in the form of a backpack made of durable 1680D polyester. The sound characteristics and operation of the Ciari Ascender system are presented in the videos below.
