Exclusive PRS DGT Semi-Hollow LTD
A special edition PRS DGT Semi-Hollow LTD will soon hit European stores, introducing another signature model from Texas guitarist David Grissom, one of Paul Reed Smith's first factory players. Built from the finest materials, this new model features a semi-hollow design and will only be produced in a limited edition of 200 pieces.
The body base combines a mahogany back and sides with an arched maple top with Artist Grade flame grain, resulting in an enhanced resonance and lively tone. The one-piece mahogany neck has a DGT profile, and the 10-inch radius rosewood fingerboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets and simple moon inlays.
The instrument, fitted with a traditional PRS 25-inch long scale, uses a pair of signature DGT humbuckers controlled by a three-position toggle switch, independent volume potentiometers and a tone knob with built-in push/pull coil splitting on both pickups, providing the player with six different configurations to cover a broad sonic palette, including a mode similar to the Telecaster's middle position.
The nickel-plated hardware consists of PRS's time-tested patented Gen II tremolo and locking PRS Phase III proprietary drives with synthetic bone tuning keys. "The semi-hollow design has a bit warmer top end and a little less bottom than the solid body, making it a super versatile companion to my stock DGTs," comments David Grissom on the deluxe newcomer.
The limited edition PRS DGT Semi-Hollow LTD, hand-signed by both Paul Reed Smith and David Grissom, costs around 7500 euros and is sold in a transparent, glossy vintage nitro lacquer McCarty Sunburst, referring to Grissom's first signature models, based on the PRS McCarty collection. Of course, a top-quality hard case and other accessories are included.
