Superstrat LTD MH-1000ET with EverTune Bridge
EverTune bridges are preferred by many players who prefer the patented, fully mechanical system on their instruments to provide the comfort of a consistently fine-tuned guitar. Thanks to a design using a combination of springs and levers, EverTune maintains constant tension on each individual string, so the instrument is perfectly in tune for an almost unlimited amount of time, even with more aggressive playing styles or extreme bending. The EverTune F version is also equipped with this year's deluxe model of the LTD MH-1000ET super-string in a transparent Charcoal Burst finish, which, although primarily aimed at guitarists of the more edgy genres, thanks to modern electronics can easily handle registers suitable for funk, blues, pop, etc.
Using elements taken from the ESP Horizon and Mirage editions, the six-string LTD MH-1000ET features a mahogany body covered by a flame maple top with a distinctive pattern. The neck, with a subtle, fast Extra Thin-U profile made up of three pieces of maple, increasing its mechanical stability, is attached to the body via a glued ergonomically shaped joint allowing convenient access to the highest positions of the fretboard.
The fretboard is made of Macassar ebony and has a variable radius of 300 - 400 mm, values optimised for playing chords in lower positions, while playing solo parts, where note bending is often used, is facilitated by the larger radius in higher positions. The fretboard features 24 thick XJ stainless steel frets, edge trims and small offset block markers as used by parent company ESP on its more expensive models.
The sound is carried by two active Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic and Alnico humbuckers, whose coils are housed in brushed metal enclosures, linked to a three-position footswitch and volume potentiometers, plus tone controls fitted with a push/pull switch activating an additional voicing mode on both pickups.
Mod Voice 1 on the bridge ceramic humbucker delivers crisp crunch, strong bass and maximum punch, while the neck pickup delivers a full, round tone with great articulation and dynamics. The Mod Voice 2 at the HB bridge provides the attack typical of passive pickups, an organic distortion character and a clear response. At the same time, the neck HB with Alnico magnet produces a bright, clear and musical tone in this mode.
The strings are anchored in the aforementioned Evertune F bridge with a black base and nickel-plated stones, and the ESP Mirage series style headstock houses high-quality, precision tuning machines from Grover. The battery shaft powering the active circuit is located separately on the back of the body. The price of this year's version of the LTD MH-1000ET is around the 1900 euro mark in European stores.
