Burls Art and an Aquarium Guitar
Youtuber and infinitely imaginative designer Burls Art is back with another unique instrument from his workshop. This time, he was inspired by the images of "aquarium" guitars created by artificial intelligence circulating on the internet and decided to bring the idea to the real world. The thick, hollow body with an original shape is cast from durable clear epoxy, and the box of the single Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker is protected by a layer of acrylic and silicone.
The guitar comes with a standard bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a hardtail top-load bridge. At the end, the body cavity was filled with substrate, plants were arranged and about 5.5 litres of water was poured in. "I'd say this thing is an aquarium first and a guitar second. It's quite heavy and awkward to hold and you have to make sure you don't spill it when you're playing, but it's definitely playable," says the creator of this unique project.v
