EXIT Festival: From the Founder of RATM to the Cavalera Brothers

This July, furious riffs will resonate through the Petrovaradin fortress at the EXIT Festival! The previously announced line-up, headed by one of the most innovative guitarists of all time, the driving force behind Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, Tom Morello, and the unstoppable The Exploited, is now joined by the Cavalera brothers, founders of the legendary Sepultura, who will perform together for the first time at the fortress, bringing the sound of one of the greatest heavy metal bands in history! Visitors can also look forward to the premiere of Altin Gün, a Dutch band with an international career nurturing an authentic oriental rock sound, and the global sensation from Hungary, the mega-popular Azahriah, who became the youngest musician ever to sell out the Budapest Sports Arena last year.

Alongside the previously announced Villagers of Ioannina City and Lakeside X, the iconic Visa Fusion stage will welcome a powerful regional support lineup consisting of Eyesburn, Ritam nereda, and Macedonian Funk Shui, while the Explosive Stage will be dominated by American punk icons The Casualties, the previously announced legendary band Coroner, who will perform in Serbia for the first time, as well as Ratos de Poaro, Uada, Conflict and a range of hardcore, metal and punk bands!

The loud and distorted side of the EXIT Festival just got a powerful boost – the riffs of the Sepultura anthems are to be brought by the Cavalera brothers, Iggor and Max, founders of one of the greatest heavy metal bands in history, whose album Roots laid the groundwork for the nu metal sound in the 90s. Max often emphasizes that he considers Serbia his second home, and it is known that the entire album Prophecy, which he recorded with his band Soulfly, was inspired by his profound connection to Serbia. He has performed at EXIT twice, in 2004 and 2008, and this year he will be joined for the first time by his brother Iggor Cavalera, bringing the essence of Sepultura with him! We already know that the legendary riffs of "Killing in the Name" will resound from the fortress, directly from Tom Morello, co-founder and main author of most of Rage Against the Machine's albums, and the unstoppable Scottish punks, The Exploited, are also coming.

The Tesla Universe Main Stage will see the premiere of the oriental psychedelic rock band from the Netherlands with an international career, Altin Gün, and a fantastic prelude to their performance at EXIT are the KEXP sessions where they have already appeared twice – in May 2023 and in February of this year. The lineup will feature also the global sensation from Hungary, the mega-popular singer-songwriter and YouTuber Azahriah, who made history as the youngest musician ever to sell out the Budapest Sports Arena Papp Laszlo, with three consecutive sold-out solo concerts awaiting him at the Puskas Arena national stadium, in front of more than 150,000 fans! The previously announced Slovenian band Joker Out, who launched their career at last year's Eurovision Song Contest, will be coming straight from a major European tour and visitors can also enjoy Belgrade punk rock band Replicunts.

On the popular Visa Fusion Stage, Villagers of Ioannina City and Lakeside X will be joined by leading regional bands Eyesburn, Ritam nereda and Macedonian Funk Shui, while the hardest Explosive Stage will feature the unbeatable New York punks The Casualties alongside the previously announced Coroner, who are making their debut in Serbia, and the melodic death metal band Nemesis.

They are joined by over 20 more bands, including Cutthroat, Worst, Nabod / Majak / Neven, Expectations, Risk it, Khargash, Uada, Morost, Tortharry, Zenoth, Ratos de Poaro, Conflict, The Take, My Turn, Lineout, Liquid Supercharge, Xsus, Jack, Ancient, Schirenc Plays Pungent Stench, The Stone, Gestos Grosseiros, Condemned Ad and Geger.

The next edition of the EXIT Festival, featuring an EXIT Starseeds theme and the slogan "Awakening Our Superpowers Together", will take place from July 10 to 14, 2024, at the Petrovaradin Fortress, with a special Starseeds Takeover performance on Tesla Universe Stage reserved for day zero. Four-day tickets are available here, and single-day ticket sales begin on Thursday, April 4th, at noon sharp.
