Former Member of Fender Custom Shop Founds Castedosa Guitars
Not long ago, Master Builder Carlos Lopez voluntarily left the Fender Custom Shop team in order to pursue his own projects. And it seems that this moment has arrived: Lopez confirmed that he has started a new boutique company, Castedosa Guitars, operating as a family business. The brand's first officially unveiled model is an offset relic version of the Conchers Baritone with a 27-inch extended scale.
The instrument features time-tested materials in a combination of alder, roasted maple, and rosewood, and incorporates quality components such as Kluson tuning machines, Jescar frets, a real bone zero fret, Jazzmaster-based custom vibrato, CTS potentiometers, Switchcraft switches, and a trio of Castedosa Hand-Wound TS MH mini-humbuckers, hand-wound by Lopez's wife Stephanie. The accompanying video demonstrates the sonic character of the debut collection, which can be ordered through distributors Chicago Music Exchange, Casino Guitars, Wild West Guitars, and Black Bobbin.
