Tosin Abasi Introduces Ēmi—the First Double-Cut Guitars by Abasi Concepts
At this year's trade show NAMM in Anaheim, California, Abasi Concepts introduced their new versions of the guitar series Larada (including a hybrid version with nylon strings powered by the Fishman Aura system). However, Tosin Abasi from Animals As Leaders also presented models with the label ēmi—the first guitars with double-cut bodies in his company's portfolio.
As you can see in the video made by Premier Guitar magazine, the edition Abasi Concepts ēmi should first appear on the market as a seven-string model with a standard scale, a Gotoh 510 tremolo, a maple neck with an asymmetrical profile, an okoume body and a pair of active soapbar humbuckers Fishman Fluence. There will also be an eight-string version with a hardtail bridge, dual scale, ebony fingerboard and HSS pickups, and a more traditional six-string version fitted with three Fishman single coils, tremolo and pearl pickguard.
