The Godfather’s 10 Essential Tips for Aspiring Musicians

Everything you need for a successful career as a musician is in The Godfather. You don’t believe me? Well then, let’s go through these 10 tips together, shall we?

1. The family business is nobody’s business
Never discuss doubts and insecurities about your music career with strangers. They won't help you anyway and it will only stand in the way of what you're trying to achieve.

2. Avoid fish and horse heads in your bed
Try to understand that there are people in the music industry that won't take no for an answer.

3. Maintain professional relationships without getting emotional
Musicians should reveal their sensitive soul only in their work, but never during negotiations with their manager.

4. Pay back help and support
The people who support you and help you in your music career must be respected and their efforts must not go to waste.

5. In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns
Beware of romantic affairs! Especially between band members.

6. Put your hand in your pocket, pretend there's a gun in it, and you'll be fine
Trust yourself and don't let adversity upset you. If you have courage and persevere, your dream will sooner or later become a reality.

7. Don't look anyone directly in the eye, but don't look away either
Don't place yourself above others and don't humiliate yourself in front of anyone.

8. Don’t discuss business matters in front of the children
Don't wash dirty laundry in public. Having a disagreement within the band? Things not going exactly as planned? Let it go and don't whine about it.

9. With respect comes loyalty
Fans respect artists who have integrity and stand behind what they create.

10. Always make them an offer they can’t refuse
No comment!
