Modeling Combos Peavey Vypyr x 1/2/3

They are finally hitting the global market: the third generation of Peavey's Vypyr guitar combos, represented by the Vypyr X1, X2, and X3 models, which Peavey Electronics premiered on YouTube in July. In addition to an updated design, the latest evolution of the affordable combo has received new presets, an improved acoustic section and, most importantly, improved TransTube analogue-digital hybrid technology, which should emulate the sound of classic electronics in an even more realistic way.

The Vypyr X series, built on the concept of the previous collection Vypyr VIP (Variable Instrument Performance), allows some of these combos to be used for electric or acoustic guitar as well as bass guitar, which can prove to be a key feature for multi-instrumentalists or small home studio owners when choosing the right modeling amp.

All models feature an analogue distortion unit and a chain of up to five effects can be used for the selected preset (X1 only has four effects). Intuitive control is aided by the WYSIWYG system, where the backlighting of the diode rings around the potentiometers changes when the preset is changed, giving the user instant visual control of the positions of the individual amp controls.

Unlike competing manufacturers who leave editing and access to hidden functions to the accompanying software application, the Vypyr X Series offers full editing of all parameters directly in the amplifier. In addition to input circuit optimization with instrument mods, simulations of a wide range of well-known amplifiers, and an ample number of effects, there's also a looper controllable by an optional Sanpera controller.

There is also a headphone output for recording, an Aux In connector for connecting an external audio source and, of course, a USB port. The X2 and X3 versions also have a wireless Bluetooth module compatible with the iOS platform. The semi-open cabinets have undergone a modification, aiding in better low-band projection.
