Palo Canto: Live Session at Sunset to Fusion Techno Rhythm
Palo Canto, the Budapest-based techno fusion project of producer duo Péter Kedves and Bertalan Toth, releases another track from their upcoming debut album following the successful single "West Wind". The track "Theta Waves" was presented in a live video session.
As suggested by the name Palo Canto, referring to desert rituals and the sacred fire of palo santo, the aim of the producer duo is to connect listeners and viewers with their ultimate inner selves through a musical and visual experience, thus providing them with an extraordinary ritual experience with healing effects. In their work, the artists use electronic sounds as well as acoustic instruments and noises.
In November 2023, Palo Canto released their debut single, West Wind, which took the audience's breath away with its dreamy sequences and scenes filmed in the hot desert sand. The track, which featured a music video directed by Lisa Lukácz, became an international success, gaining support from Cercle, Mixmag and Electronic Groove and reaching almost 200,000 streams.
Péter Kedves describes the creation of the live session video, which also includes the new track "Theta Waves", as well as the future plans of the techno fusion duo Palo Canto: "Some time at the end of the summer we made a live session video, we took our instruments into the outdoors, which was a really spiritual experience for us. We can't wait to do something like that again. We're currently working on our live set for the first show, but our main priority is to finish our debut album."
The instrumental track "Theta Waves" creates its characteristic soundscape of muted beats, from which marching rhythms and hypnotic synth arpeggios gradually emerge. The track was mastered by Zino Mikorey (Christian Löffler, Kerala Dust, Ry X, Thom Yorke) in Berlin, the traditional capital of techno. Palo Canto is currently working on their first LP, which invites all listeners on an unforgettable inner healing trip.
