LTD MH-1000NT Deluxe BB: Superstrat Inspired by ESP's Flagship Series
There are not many manufacturers whose guitars are as synonymous with hard rock and heavy metal as ESP and its subsidiary LTD, which was founded by the Japanese company in 1996 to make its expensive originals accessible to musicians on a lower budget. Among the higher-end instruments produced by LTD in South Korea is the superstrat LTD MH-1000NT Deluxe BB, which combines design elements from ESP’s Horizon and Mirage guitars. These two models have formed the backbone of ESP’s product line for four decades and continue to enjoy widespread popularity in their category.
The latest addition to the MH Deluxe collection boasts a Bold Binding Black Satin finish, featuring a matte black final coating and wide silver binding protecting the front contours of the body and headstock. The result is a modest design that doesn't conform to trends and retains a dose of individuality and grace, giving the guitar a touch of luxury.
Its set-thru neck consists of three pieces of maple, and the Extra Thin-U profile facilitates fast riffs and solos. Similar to ESP Horizon models, the mahogany body features an arched top and a 25.5-inch scale typical for Fender guitars.
The Macassar ebony fingerboard with a variable radius (300 to 400 mm) offers 24 carefully finished XJ stainless steel frets, white binding, offset block inlays featured on original ESP guitars, and a 42 mm wide plastic nut.
Sound is transmitted by a pair of active Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers with ceramic (bridge) and Alnico (neck) magnets, whose coils are hidden under brushed stainless steel covers. The pickups are controlled by a three-position toggle switch, with Voice 1 mode activated by default, a push/pull switch in the tone control selects Voice 2 mode, and an identical switch built into the master volume potentiometer activates Voice 3 mode.
The Korean version of the LTD MH-1000NT in Bold Binding Black Satin finish is available at Kytary.de for 1,746 euros.
