Check Out the Unique Sculpture, the Lightest Version of the PRS Custom 24
Ish Guitars, based in Syracuse, New York, has ordered a special PRS Private Stock Sculpture Custom 24 from Paul Reed Smith, which at just 1.77kg is the lightest version of this popular line of guitars. The unique specimen in snow white lacquer features an hollow body construction with a mahogany base and spruce top, the ebony fingerboard carries 24 gold-colored frets, and the same shade was used for the position marker inlays.
The gold finish not only dominates the hardware, consisting of the company's open tuning machines equipped with white plastic tuning keys and a ten-carat gold-coated wraparound bridge, but is also found on the Optima Gold strings. In order to further reduce weight, the electronics have been substantially reduced, so apart from the piezo pickups hidden in the bridge saddles, the PRS Sculpture has no controls or magnetic pickups.
The seller, Ish Guitars, has priced the collectible at $13,500 including the custom case—the past tense is used because the guitar has already found a buyer, so any interested parties will have to settle for the video below.
