Squier Celebrates Their Birthday with 40th Anniversary Models
The Squier brand, which produces affordable instruments under its parent company Fender, celebrates 40 years of existence this year. This milestone anniversary is commemorated with a special edition Squier 40th Anniversary, featuring models Squier 40th Ann. Stratocaster, 40th Ann. Telecaster, 40th Ann. Jazzmaster, 40th Ann. Precision, and 40th Ann. Jazz Bass. The collection is offered in Gold or Vintage versions, varying in the colour finish, hardware finish and fretboard type.
The common feature of the collection, except for some Stratocaster, Telecaster, and Jazz Bass Vintage models, are gold anodised aluminium pickguards; the Gold Edition adds hardware with the same finish and an Indian laurel fingerboard fitted with pearloid block inlays and binding, while the Vintage range features a classic maple fingerboard and aged chrome hardware.
Apart from the Jazzmaster with an alder body, the bodies are made of nyatoh wood, the maple neck has a classic C-shaped profile, the fingerboard radius is 9.5 inches, the bone nut is 42 mm wide (Strat + Tele), 42.8 mm wide (Jazzmaster + Precision), or 38.1 mm wide (Jazz Bass). The guitars have traditional vintage tuning machines; the length of the scale matches the Fender standard, i.e. 25.5 inches for guitars and 34 inches for basses.
